New Career Training and Green Internships

Relay coordinated placements for green internships with organizations and youth from June 2021 to March 2022. 16 organizations hired 27 youth who completed multi-month paid internships.

Relay Education was a recipient of a Natural Resources Canada grant that awarded non-profit organizations with funding to be a coordinator of paid internships and provide career and skills training for youth. The program subsidized the salaries of internship positions at environmental organizations.

Relay developed and delivered “Intro to Solar Installation” a five day intensive solar installation training course. The program provided the fundamentals of residential and commercial rooftop solar installations to young people who want to secure a full-time position in the solar energy industry. Relay offered the courses for youth (ages 18-30) in Ontario. The week-long courses were held in March for 18 youth and in June for 14 youth.
