Join Relay Education and Solar Alberta for a networking event with professionals in the solar industry. During the event you will meet and talk with different solar professionals alongside a small group of your peers. Learn about opportunities within Alberta’s growing solar industry, expand your professional network, and take steps towards a fulfilling career.

When: Tuesday, May 25 at 12pm MT

Where: Virtually on Zoom

Why you need to be there:

This 1-hour event will be hosted on Zoom and will use breakout rooms to promote smaller group chats. You will have the opportunity to meet multiple solar professionals throughout the event. This event is intended for 18 to 29 year olds in the Edmonton area.

We promote a relaxed environment where you can be yourself and get to know professionals and peers in a fun atmosphere. Participate from the comfort of your home and grow your network.

Shortly after earning a degree in Mining Engineering from the University of Alberta, Adam joined the solar industry in 2015 founding what has since become one of Alberta’s most prominent solar power companies, Kuby Renewable Energy. Adam has managed and integrated hundreds of solar power systems and several thousands kW’s of capacity throughout Western Canada for residential and commercial applications.

Alicia Couto

Alicia Couto is an entrepreneur, lecturer, teacher, and advocate of renewable energy and energy efficiency in Canada. She has previously worked as a Sustainability Consultant with Williams Engineering Canada, and currently works with SkyFire Energy in Calgary, Alberta. Alicia is an instructor in Lakeland College’s Renewable Energy and Conservation Program. She is Co-Owner of Couto Consulting and Engineering Ltd. and sits on the Board of Solar Alberta. She is also a founding member of the Renfrew Solar Garden, a community-owned renewable energy project that is slated for installation in 2021. Alicia is currently enrolled as a Graduate Student in the University of Saskatchewan’s Master of Sustainable Environmental Management Energy Security Program. Alicia hopes to help communities in their transition to being more green with energy efficiency programs and renewable energies.

Jeffe Li

Jeffe Li is a construction management professional from Calgary with 15 years of experience in commercial, heavy industrial and renewables projects. He is a co-founder of Alberta based EVOLVsolar and has successfully managed 200+ Solar PV projects across Western Canada in the last 6 years. He holds a degree in Actuarial Mathematics from the University of Manitoba and regularly attends continuing education sessions from solar conferences around the world.

Kea Adachi

Kea Adachi (she/her pronouns) is passionate about sustainability, alternative energy, education, and the environment. As a graduate of the NAIT Alternative Energy Technology Program (2014), Kea has worked and volunteered in a variety of areas within the industry including: project design, research and development, grants, funding, and copy-editing, First Nations economic and sustainable development, event planning, as a laboratory technologist for the NAIT ALTE program, development coordinator, as an independent contractor/consultant, and is currently on the board of directors for Solar Alberta. In 2019 Kea received the AUPE Eco-Star Award for her commitment to environmental and sustainability initiatives within her community and place of work. Kea believes that education and knowledge sharing is a key component to enhance the accessibility and adoption of alternative energy technologies.

 

Nick Kendrick

Nick has over 8 years of environmental and energy industry experience in Alberta. Nick is as a Sustainability Educator and Technical Analyst for a clean energy project management company called Greenplanet Energy Analytics, where he helps support Indigenous led energy efficiency and renewable energy projects in Fort Chipewyan, Alberta.
