Virtual Kids’ World of Energy Festival 2022
The festival is interactive, STEM-focused and explores the amazing forms of energy in our world!
Event Details
The 14th annual Kids’ World of Energy Festival will be virtual. Over the first two weeks of May classes from across Canada will join us for one day of virtual programming. The virtual festival trip includes three of Relay’s workshops: Concentrate on Conservation, Safety Spark! and Where Water Flows. All classes will also participate in a Renewable Energy Design Challenge, where they build solar cars or wind turbines in groups.
Who: 30+ classes of students from across Canada
Where: Virtually in classrooms across Canada
When: May 9 – May 20, 2022
Workshop Descriptions
Concentrate on Conservation: Learn about conserving energy, common usages of electricity, and how over-consumption can impact biodiversity. Using interactive experiments, students will discover how angles can affect the energy output of both solar PV panels and wind turbines.
Safety Spark! Students will identify the importance of electricity safety while learning about circuits, electricity in their homes and power lines on their streets.
Where Water Flows: In partnership with the City of Toronto, students will learn about the importance of conserving water in our homes and schools, and how this can benefit our local environments.
