Renewable Energy Tours by TREC Education

We are offering renewable energy tours at the WindShare Turbine at Exhibition Place in Toronto, Ontario. Guests will be informed about renewable energy and interact with educational equipment led by a TREC Education Facilitator.

Please note: We will not be offering access inside of the wind turbine. This is an educational tour at the base of the turbine.

Scheduled Tour Times:

11:00 AM – 12:00 PM

12:30 PM – 1:30 PM

2:00 PM – 3:00 PM

Attendees will experience:

• Hands-on equipment linked to three different types of renewable energy
• Discussion of the history of electricity generation, importance of using renewable energy, benefits of paying a premium to support renewable energy, WindShare Turbine in the context of pooling money to support renewable energy.
• Attendees rotate between three stations of renewable energy: Wind, Solar and Biogas
• Extra time for more in-depth questions and discussion on renewable energy

This event is open to the public and great for adults and kids.

Green Energy Doors Open (GEDO) is an annual showcase of individual, community, and commercial sustainable energy projects. It takes places every year over the course of three days. It is organized and spearheaded by the Ontario Sustainable Energy Association.
